SUMMER CAMP AND TRYOUT MEMBERSHIPS

Summer is upon us! Many RMR members will attend various skills clinics and open gyms, and eventually TRYOUTS in the coming months. Remember that if you are a returning athletes (regular season member for 24-25) then your membership and insurance are "good through August 31st!" No need to buy a summer or tryout membership!

If you are new to USAV and RMR, then you WILL need to purchase a membership of some sort. Currently, we have our "24-25 Limited Summer Camps and Clinics" membership available ( https://memberships.sportsengine.com/buy/11ef4ea3-e24f-48e8-af28-762cd491ac0d ).  Only purchase this membership  if you don't already have a  24-25  regular membership, but do want to attend camps and clinics. The Summer membership DOES cover you at our July 12-on Tryouts as well, but it is NOT "upgradable" to the 25-26 membership, so only buy this one if you're going to attend camps/clinics before July 12th.

On July 12th we start the  formal Tryout season. Memberships for Tryouts (only) will open July 1. That membership IS upgradable to the 25-26 season (so all your money goes toward your new club season)  but it does NOT cover summer camps/clinics. 

WHAT IS THE OCS OR ONLINE COMMITMENT SYSTEM? 

OCS ("The Portal") is a system the region uses that is separate from the membership system. The clubs use this system to send out their offers and any other information they would like to share with you.  Every player that had a 24-25 membership is already in the system.  If your athlete did not play in the 24-25 season, please add your player here.  This is NOT the membership system that USA Volleyball uses for membership, rosters, etc. 

What is a commitment?  Once you accept a commitment through the OCS to a club your player is not allowed to tryout or play for another club for the duration of the season.  If a club has given you a verbal offer, they should also send an offer through the online commitment system. Those offers will be sent out no earlier than 10am, July 12 (for athletes who will play 15s, 16s, 17s, 18s) or beginning 10 am, September 6 (for 10-14 year olds).

Clubs cannot force a player to commit (verbal or otherwise) before an official offer has been made through the RMR OCS. 

Probably at exactly 10am July 12 (or Sept 6) you'll start receiving OFFER emails. Each will come to your from the RMR OCS system. The RMR requires that all offers will remain available to you for 48 hours... so it's a great idea to give the system a few minutes, just in case some e-mails take a little bit longer to get through to you. 

When you receive offer(s) you can ACCEPT or DECLINE immediately.  Or you can sit tight for a bit, to see what else comes through.  Again, ALL OFFERS ARE REQUIRED TO REMAIN OPEN TO YOU FOR AT LEAST 48 HOURS.  

Note that the 48 hours is NOT a firm deadline. It's the minimum timeline that the club is required to offer you. Some Directors might opt to leave the offer open longer for you, to give you more time to "look around." But of course, after 48 hours this is "at the Director's discretion." If another great player comes along, you might lose your spot to them...

When you  do accept with one club, then all other offers will immediately be cancelled, and those Directors informed that you're "off the table."  

There are multiple safeguards in place to make sure that you don't "accidentally" click the wrong accept button. BUT BE CAREFUL. Once you do accept, you're with THAT club for the season! The RMR will consider you as locked to that club, as soon as you click “ACCEPT.”
